The Museum of Black Women Innovators is not a distant vision. It is being built now. In 2026, MOBWI will open in the heart of Coastal Virginia as an immersive cultural experience honoring the brilliance and innovation of Black women whose stories have too often been overlooked. The Legacy of Innovation Campaign is the museum’s founding effort to build this institution from the ground up. Every gift made today helps shape what will exist for future generations. The Legacy of Innovation Campaign is MOBWI’s founding capital campaign to establish the museum as a permanent cultural institution. This campaign funds: • Permanent and rotating museum exhibits • Immersive storytelling and art installations • Archival preservation and research • Youth and educational programming • Operational infrastructure to sustain the museum long-term Through this campaign, supporters can help shape what is preserved, how stories are told, and how long this institution endures.
